TELETOON Fills Marketing Jobs

Canadian broadcaster TELETOON has appointed Russell Ward to the post of VP of marketing, and has promoted Natalie Cunningham to director of marketing. Both appointments are effective as of today.

As VP of marketing, Ward will serve as a key member of the executive and management teams, overseeing the marketing, sales promotions and TELETOON Studios departments. He will direct all consumer and trade marketing efforts and supervise the continued brand development of TELETOON, TELETOON Detour and TELETOON Retro. Ward will also identify new opportunities for TELETOON Canada and lead the development of key research to track and build the market performance of the networks.

Ward has been with TELETOON parent company Astral Media for the past seven years, most recently as director of consumer marketing for Astral Television Networks. He played an integral role in the recent launch of Playhouse Disney and the ‘Always Riveting’ positioning for The Movie Network. Ward also oversaw all program launches and promotions for the networks including the recent record-breaking broadcasts of Disney’s High School Musical 2 and Camp Rock.

Natalie Cunningham has been a member of the TELETOON team for the past five years. As brand manager, she was an essential contributor to the network’s 2007 re-branding. As director, she will continue to supervise the management of TELETOON brands and take on additional responsibilities including acting as the key research liaison for all TELETOON departments. She will also oversee the TELETOON Online Advisory Panel, a research panel of more than1000 young TELETOON viewers from across Canada.
