Fox-TV announced that it has renewed its Sunday animation regulars Seth MacFarlane’s Family Guy and American Dad. However, according to ew.com, the channel hasn’t made a firm commitment to bringing back Family Guy spinoff The Cleveland Show.
MacFarlane’s original toon Family Guy will begin its 11th season this fall, while American Dad will return for its eighth. There will be 22 episodes in the new season of each of the toons. According to sources, there are enough episodes in the pipeline to keep Cleveland on the air for its fourth season next year, so there’s some wiggle room to nail the future of the spinoff.
Created by Mike Henry, Richard Appel and MacFarlane, The Cleveland Show debuted in September of 2009. The Emmy-nominated series follows the trials and tribulations of the Brown/Tubbs family and is voiced by Henry, Kevin Michael Richardson, Sanaa Lathan, Jason Sudeikis and Reagan Gomez-Preston.
