Disney Junior plans to air its popular animated series Sofia the First weeknights at 7 p.m. and weekends at 5:30 p.m., beginning June 10. The Hollywood Reporter says the show will also air weekdays at 9 a.m. and weekends at 8:30 a.m. on Disney Channel. This is part of the cabler’s multiplatform “Pirate and Princess Summer” blitz.
New episodes of Sofia the First will continue to premiere on Fridays, alternating with Jake and the Never Land Pirates, from June 14 to Aug. 23 on Disney Channel at 9 a.m. and Disney Junior at 5 p.m. A new Sofia the First will air at 9:30 a.m. on June 14 following a new episode of Jake and the Never Land Pirates.
The new season will feature Viola Davis and Megan Mullaly as guest voices. Also on tap is an appearance by Princess Jasmine of Aladdin fame, voiced by Linda Larkin and sung by Lea Salonga. Meanwhile Jake and the Never Land Pirates welcomes Jerry O’Connell, Jane Kaczmarek and Teri Hatcher as additional guest voices.
