If you happen to be in Los Angeles this Thursday evening, you may want to visit Cartoon Network Studios in Burbank. The good folks at the studio are hosting a special animation benefit silent auction from 5:30 to 9 p.m to benefit Fyn Stec, the son of animation art director Paul Stec (Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends) and his wife Dayla Corcoran, (production coordinator on Dexter’s Laboratory and Shrek). Fyn has been suffering from a rare form of liver cancer and the funds raised from the auction will help defray the astronomical medical expenses that aren’t covered by insurance. Among the many artists contributing to this worthy cause are Craig Kellman, Chris Reccardi, Lynne Naylor, Tim Biskup, Craig McCracken, Seonna Hong, Miles Thompson and Don. The even will also feature live music.
Cartoon Network Studio (located at 300 N. Third Street, Burbank, CA 91502) will be open next Thursday night from 5:30 to 9:00pm. There will be plenty of street and free public parking nearby. To get more info or preview art work and bid online, visit www.fynstec.com. You can also ead the blog www.fynstec.blogspot.com for updates on Fyn’s progress.
