Annie Awards Judges Sought

The International Animated Film Society, ASIFA-Hollywood is seeking individuals to serve on nomination committees for the 36th Annual Annie Awards. The groups will determine the nominees for both the production categories and individual achievement kudos. Judging will take place on Saturday, Nov. 15 at Woodbury University in Burbank, Calif. Judges may also be required to do some additional judging within the following days and participate in pre-selection activities via email prior to the judging sessions.

Those working in or parallel to the animation and gaming industries are encouraged to apply at http://annieawards.org/Judging.htm. Applications must be received no later than Friday, Oct. 17. Individuals selected to serve on a nomination committee will receive a pair of complementary VIP tickets to the awards ceremony, which will take place on Friday, Jan. 30 at UCLA’s Royce Hall in Los Angeles.

Founded in 1972 by ASIFA member and veteran voice talent June Foray, the Annie Awards have grown in scope and stature over the past three decades. Today, ASIFA-Hollywood, the largest of an international network of chapters, supports a range of animation activities and preservation efforts through its membership. Current initiatives include special animation events, classes, screenings, film and video archives and film preservation efforts.
