ASIFA Has Chat with Don Hahn

In celebration of the release of Don Hahn’s latest book, The Alchemy of Animation, Woodbury University and ASIFA-Hollywood will host a panel discussion with the artist and long-time Disney producer, as well as some of the talented animators he has worked with over the past 20 years. The educational and entertaining event will be held on Monday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. in the Fletcher Jones Foundation Auditorium at Woodbury University in Burbank, Calif.

Hahn will be joined on the panel by leading animators James Baxter (Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, Shrek 2, Enchanted), Mike Belzer (The Nightmare Before Christmas, James and the Giant Peach, Meet the Robinsons, Bolt) and Nik Ranieri (Beauty and the Beast, Hercules, Meet the Robinsons, The Princess and the Frog). The panelists will share their insights into the highly creative and involved process of making animated films across a variety of mediums’traditional, CG and stop-motion animation’as reflected in The Alchemy of Animation.

Following the discussion, Hahn will sign copies of the book. A limited number of copies will be available for purchase at the event, with proceeds benefiting the ASIFA-Hollywood Animation Archive.
