TV-Loonland has signed a multi-content deal with long-term broadcast partner ABC TV Australia. The network has picked up the animated series The Owl (52×1), the upcoming Pat & Stan (39×7 minutes), Raymond (26×7) and the preschool property Penelope (54×5). ABC has also acquired to new seasonal specials from the toon series Little Princess.
Created and directed by Alexandre So, The Owl is a co-production of TV-Loonland, Paris-based Studio Hari and French public network France 3. In the shorts, a pink owl endures an unending string of hilarious mishaps, which often leave her in pieces. The property, which made its TV debut in 2006 on France 3, also works on multiple platforms including the Internet and mobile.
Pat & Stan, a co-production of French animation producer MacGuff and TF1, is described as a fun-loving buddy show that features its two title characters taking daily life situations to the silliest of extremes. Like two peas in a pod, the tireless twosome manages to turn even the most commonplace events into the craziest of adventures.
Raymond is a co-production between TV-Loonland, French producer Everybody on Deck and French broadcasters Canal+ and Gulli. The star of the show, Raymond, is a self-styled, self-conscious eight-year old boy who makes quirky look cool to young viewers. The Flash-animated show and its colorful cast of characters offer kids a light-hearted look at everyday school and family life amid humorous situations.
Penelope is based on the children’s book series written by Anne Gutman and illustrated by Georg Hallensleben. This CG-animated production is co-produced by Nippon Animation, NHK Enterprises and Shirogumi Inc. The Annecy-feted series centers on the inquisitive Penelope and illustrates the positive little stories about everyday life with her family and friends.
Based on the best-selling books by Tony Ross, Little Princess revolves around a royal tyke voiced by Jane Horrocks (Little Voice, Absolutely Fabulous). The title character is an energetic, charming and inquisitive child who is also delightfully stubborn when things don’t go her way. Madman Ent. has added the series to its home video catalogue in Australia.
