From Curious and Blueprint Ent. comes Hey Joel, an adult-oriented, animated sitcom that goes behind-the-scenes at a music talk show. The 13×22 series is being developed in conjunction with VH1 in the U.S. and will air on Chum in Canada.
Hey Joel stars John Cryer as the voice of Joel Stein, the irreverent host of a three-minute rock star interview show on VH1. Joel and his kooky cast of regulars will be joined by several famous rock stars every week.
Curious and Blueprint will present the series at MIPCOM, along with the kids’ show Codename: Kids Next Door, about five 10-year-olds who have to get crafty in their struggle with the adult world and arch enemies such as Knightbrace, The Toilenator and The Delightful Children from Down the Lane. The series begins airing on Cartoon Network Dec. 2002.
