Channelzero will unveil its three-minute pilot of the 26×22 series SoSophie at MIPCOM 2002. Scripted by Emmy-winning writer Peter Gaffney, the initial episode, "Dead Dog Double-Dare," makes its world premiere on Oct. 7 and will screen through Oct. 11.
The pre-production was done in The United States and Canada by Channelzero and Atomic Cartoons, bringing together a group of Emmy-winning animation artists whose combined credits include The Simpsons, Pinky and The Brain, Animaniacs, AAAHH!! Real Monsters, Liquid Television, Ren and Stimpy, Rugrats, Daria and Beavis and Butthead.
Animation was produced in China by SMEC Media & Ent, then handed off to Los Angeles-based edit house Hacienda Post, fronted by Tim Borquez. The award-winning soundmans credits include The Powerpuff Girls Movie, Hey Arnold: The Movie and Samurai Jack. Grammy-winner Michael Ward, best known as the guitarist and backup vocalist for The Wallflowers, is scoring the pilot.
