Ex’pression Center for New Media, the Emeryville, Calif. digital arts school, announced that award-winning Creative Director Todd Godwin will volunteer as an instructor for the center’s Digital Graphic Design program including the Web Business and Advanced Conceptual Thinking courses.
Godwin began his career at the boutique agency Levine, Huntley, Schmidt and Beaver, where he created acclaimed work on such accounts as Subaru, Dreyfus, Gennesee Beer and Maidenform. He then moved to BBD&O, where he served as VP and assoc. creative director, creating the award-winning 1991 Pepsi Super Bowl commercial. Godwin then went to Lowe & Partners as exec. VP and creative group head.
Godwin also took on the then failing brand Sprite with his “Obey Your Thirst” campaign. Bolstered by the blitz, Sprite became the number three soft drink in the world. He then helped win the Diet Coke account, re-launching the brand with the well-known Diet Coke Break commercial. His other accounts include Heineken, Amstel, Amstel Light, Denny’s, Hardees, Burger King, the U.S. Virgin Islands, The Body Shop, Stoneyfield Yogurt, OneTravel.com and Summit Technology.
In addition to winning more than 50 worldwide awards for advertising creative excellence, including the much-coveted Cannes Lion, Godwin has been featured as an Adweek East Coast Creative All Star. His commercials have been featured on Oprah and America’s Funniest Commercials.
