For the third time in the past 6 months, the Chuck Jones Studio Gallery in Old Town San Diego was burglarized on the morning of Sept. 25.
"Following this last offense, both the police and we believe that there is a group targeting Chuck Jones artwork and has some method of disposing of the stolen property," says Robert Patrick of Linda Jones Enterprises.
The perpetrators reportedly drove a stolen vehicle through the front of the gallery and made off with 17 pieces of original art featuring classic cartoon characters Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Marvin the Martian, Wile E. Coyote, Porky Pig and The Grinch. Images of the stolen pieces can be seen at www.LJE.com/StolenArt/.
