A recently announced deal will have Fox Kids Europe distributing CinéGroupes new animated TV series, Pig City. The project is a co-production of CinéGroupe and AnimaKids of France, in association with Merchandising München and Fox Kids France.
While CinéGroupe will continue to distribute the series in Canada, the U.S., Asia, Australia and New Zealand, the agreement gives Fox Kids television, home video and merchandising rights across Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa. AnimaKids will handle the rights in France and Merchandising Munchen will be the agent in Germany.
The 26×30 Pig City revolves around a comically dysfunctional porcine family and a 15-year-old country pig who crosses the tracks to live with his uptown city cousins. Andy Knight (Neds Newt) is directing the series for exec. producers Jacques Pettigrew, Michel Lemire, Philippe Garell, Marie-Claude Beauchamp and Andrew Makarewicz; and producers Jennifer Hibbard and Annick De Vries.
Pig City airs on TELETOON in Canada and will debut on Pro Sieben Germany and Fox Kids Europe this fall.
