At wong wast! Warner Bros. has just released The Looney Tunes Golden Collection, a four-disc set of 56 uncut cartoons. Disc 1 is all Bugs Bunny, disc 2 is all Daffy Duck and Porky Pig, and the remaining two discs are grab bags.
You want extras? How about a greeting from Chuck Jones? There are also excerpts from rare interviews with the animators, and commentaries by Michael Barrier, Greg Ford, Jerry Beck and Stan Freberg. Also included is John Canemaker’s documentary on The Boys from Termite Terrace; a recording session with Mel Blanc; music cue sheets; dialogue; separate music-only tracks for several of the cartoons; lobby cards; previews for the compilation shows Bugs Bunny’s Cartoon Festival and Bugs Bunny’s Cartoon Jamboree; as well as featurettes on the Road Runner, Marvin the Martian, Mel Blanc, Carl Stalling, Speedy Gonzales, Porky Pig, Daffy Duck, Yosemite Sam, Elmer Fudd, Friz Freling, and Bob McKimson.
