Oregon3D Hits Road, Web with 3ds max 6 Training

Industry-acclaimed Discreet-certified instructor Gary M. Davis will teach "The New Features of 3ds max 6," the first road show and set of online classes offered by Oregon 3D’s Center for Visualization Technologies. Designed specifically for visual effects, character animation and next-generation gaming, 3ds max 6 is a unified object-oriented-modeling and animation-rendering software that integrates with Discreet’s inferno, flame and flint.

New features of version 6 include improvements to user interface, schematic view, particle flow, vertex paint, mental ray 3.2, reactor 2 stuntman/vehicle dynamics, shader UI, network render to texture, network region render, spline/patch modeling, relax UV’s, mirror skin weights, edit vertex normals, shell modifier, consolidated rendering workflow, save rendering settings, Autodesk VIZ render support, layer manager, command line rendering, HDRI support, and "blobmesh" metaballs.

The courses will be offered in Vancouver, British Columbia, on Nov. 11—12; and in Austin, Texas, on Nov. 15—16. The price is $499, but if you register by October 28th you’ll get a $100 discount. A four-part, eight-hour online series is scheduled for Dec. 9, 11, 16 and 18. The charge is $169 for the entire package, or $159 if you register by November 25th.
