Mattel’s new line of Looney Tunes toys, inspired by the upcoming Warner Bros. Looney Tunes: Back in Action, includes a Tazmanian Devil toy that plays music with its armpit. What’s more, Greg Proops, of TV’s improv series Whose Line Is It Anyway?, led kids in an armpit rendition of Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star at the "How Looney Can You Be?" competition at Toys "R" Us in New York’s Times Square.
Emmy-winner Jim Cummings, the voice of Tax, was on hand to judge the competition along with Jim Silver, co-publisher of Toy Wishes. Cosponsored by Mattel and Warner Bros. Consumer Products, the competition awarded the grand-prize winner tickets to an exclusive New York screening of the feature live-action/animated film Looney Tunes Back in Action, which opens on Nov. 14.
The four runners-up won a complete line of Mattel’s Looney Tunes toys, including the new interactive Rude ’Tude Taz plush toy. Selling for $19.95, the new Taz toy plays the nursery-rhyme tune when you place his right hand under his armpit and then move his arm up and down. Rude ’Tude Taz won the "Preferred Choice Award" from Creative Child Magazine for its holiday toy test.
