Congratulations are in order this morning to the talented cast, crew and producers of Tutenstein, the acclaimed series about a ten-year-old mummy who is brought back to life in a modern-day museum. A co-production of Porchlight Entertainment (Los Angeles), Nic Entertainment (Korea), Discovery Channel (U.S.) and Telegael (Ireland), the toon was the recipient of the Emmy for Outstanding Special Class Animated Program last Saturday. The show is based on the work of Canadian cartoonist Jay Stephens.
Tutenstein’s executive producer Bruce Johnson told us the award means a lot to everyone involved with this production, which debuted last fall on Discovery Kids and NBC. Apparently, the Irish leg of the production–Telegael, which handles music composition, foley, sound mixing and picture editing–was the source of much pride and celebration in Ireland. They even made the front page of The Irish Times. We’re sure they’ll be toasting the occasion in numerous pubs for many weeks to come.
