If youre a gaming enthusiast, you wont want to miss Producers Guild of Americas New Media Councils upcoming panel, "Playing the New Hollywood Games," scheduled for May 27 (7:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m.) at Sony Imageworks Theatre in Culver City, Calif.
Moderated by Keith Boesky, head of the video game department at ICM, the panel focuses on key issues of video game production, including the state of the business, pitching and deal-making, digital piracy and copyright protection, emerging trends and the increasing role of film producers in the game sector. Boesky was president of Eidos Interative (where he was responsible for the expansion of the Tomb Raider franchise) before joining the agency.
Panelists include Haden Blackman, lead producer at LucasArts for Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided; Cos Lazouras, head of development for Vin Diesels game production company, Tigon Studios; Cliff Kamida, senior VP of production for Buena Vista Games; Brad Foxhoven, co-founder of Tiger Hill Entertainment; and Pascal Bonet, director of licensing for Ubisoft.
The event is free for active PGA members, $10 for guests accompanied by PGA members, and $20 for non-members and inactive PGA members.
