Fans of Marvel Comics Fantastic Four franchise can look forward to a new cutting-edge animated series produced by Antefilms (Funky Cops, Code Lyoko). The series is set to premiere in the fall of 2006. The new project will be produced at the Antefilms Studio in Angouleme, France. Antefilms VP Nicolas Atlan says his animators will be combining a mixture of traditional and CG elements to bring the heroic foursome to toon life.
"There has been such a huge interest in Marvel properties in recent years, and we are thrilled to embark on this new venture with Antefilms," says Marvel Enterprises Intl president Bruno Maglione. "After seeing the wonderful work Antefilms had done before, they were on our short list of studios to work on the new series."
According to Atlan, the new toon will certainly be influenced by the look and storylines of the Fox summer 2005 live-action feature. Directed by Tim Story, the new Fantastic Four movie stars Jessica Alba, Michael Chiklis, Chris Evans and Ioan Gruffudd. Created by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee, the first Fantastic Four animated series debuted in 1967 and was produced and directed by William Hanna and Joseph Barbara.
