Game Trust, Shockwave Issue Interactive Challenge

Feel the satisfaction of developing an awesome game, score a licensing agreement for said form of electronic entertainment and win a tricked out Vespa? It may sound too good to be true, but that’s what’s being offered in Game Trust’s "Casual Game Evolution Challenge," co-sponsored by Shockwave.com. Game Trust this week opened the competition to any and all game developers and seeks to identify the best single-player Shockwave game concepts for online, tournament and download play.

The contest emerges with the purpose of helping developers successfully release their games and boosting the casual game market with innovative concepts. The five finalists will be awarded Game Trust licensing contracts with a revenue share and guaranteed distribution to millions of casual game players worldwide including an exclusive premiere on Shockwave.com. In addition, the grand prizewinner will receive a specially modified, high-end Vespa motor scooter. You can check out this souped-up set of wheels while it’s on display at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) and the Int’l Game Developers Festival in San Francisco (GDC Booth #141) from March 7-11.

Any game concept with a storyboard and preliminary game graphics can be submitted, as well as completed games. Game Trust and Shockwave.com will evaluate games based on their innovative storyline, potential for commercial success and "fun factor." In exchange for the prizes offered, the winner must agree to complete all versions of the game.

Developers can submit their concepts and register at www.gametrust.com, or at the GDC/IGF event. The finalists will be announced on March 21, and the Grand Prize will be awarded to the all-star game designer on March 28.

Game Trust’s Game Frame platform is licensed by leading distribution outlets worldwide, reaching a combined audience in excess of 130 million players per month. The company is venture-backed with offices in New York and Denmark.

Shockwave.com is the leading destination for online games, serving a large and loyal audience since 1998. The award winning website is a service of San Francisco-based AtomShockwave Corp. (www.atomshockwave.com).
