Glendale-based toon shop Renegade Animation is teaming up with director Robert Zappia to deliver a new holiday-themed feature titled Who Stole Santa’s Sack? this Christmas. Featuring the voices of Kathy Bates, Ed Asner, Andy Griffith, Shirley Jones and Brad Garrett, the pic will be narrated by Jay Leno and exec produced by Carole Anne Zappia and Marco Zappi through their Easy To Dream Entertainment shingle.
Robert Zappia (Home Improvement, Halloween: H2O) will direct the script based on a childhood holiday story told by his father. Renegade’s Darrell Van Citters will serve as animation director, Ashley Postlewaite is animation executive producer, and Mike Giaimo is production designer.
Who Stole Santa’s Sack? is Renegade Animation’s first feature film project. The company was founded in 1992 by Darrell Van Citters and Ashley Postlewaite. In addition to producing Cartoon Network’s hit series Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi, Renegade has worked on numerous award-winning TV commercials, home video, video games and Internet series, including Elmo Aardvark: Outer Space Detective!
