Olivier Missir has joined Marathon Group as senior VP of Marathon Digital, the company’s new media division created in 2006. He fills the position left by David Doro, who left the company in order to pursue other professional interests.
Missir previously served as director of new media for First Live Communication, a full-service communication agency he co-founded.
Reporting to Marathon Digital general manager David Michel, Missir will head all media-oriented activity for the group, including internet and mobile licenses, as well as original digital programming for MSN, e-TF1, FTVI/France T’l’vision and other major players. Marathon produces games, community websites, web portals and originals such as Dingo and Mytho‘MSN’s first drama series, co-produced by Kabo.
A graduate of IFV Business School, Missir completed post-graduate studies in Marketing, Politics and Strategy at ADETEM, and also studied International Marketing at Scotland’s University of Stirling. He went on to pursue a career in new media, first as marketing and communication director for ABC Game Int’l in 1997, then at DLM Design in 1999 and Trade Convection in 2004. He was director of new media inside the Morgane Production group in 2005 before co-founding First Live Communication in 2007.
Marathon Digital was formed from the fusion of four French audiovisual leaders: Marathon, Marathon Media, T’l’ Images and Adventure Line Prods. KM Production joined the group in February of 2008. In July of 2007, Marathon Group joined forces with DeAgostini to build a European leader in the field of audiovisual content.
