Laura Clunie has been appointed head of production and development at Rubber Duck Entertainment (RDE), the television production and development arm of Contender Entertainment Group. RDE produces such animated children’s series as Peppa Pig, Tractor Tom, Humf and Little Kingdom.
Clunie will assume the post in early December, succeeding Laura Campbell, who left the company in July. In the new role, Clunie will oversee the whole of RDE’s current production slate, working closely with the company’s international distribution and licensing and merchandising departments. She will also be developing new talent and new properties for the U.K. and international marketplace.
Before joining RDE, Clunie she was a producer with family entertainment provider Chorion, working on such popular children’s entertainment brands as Noddy, Mr Men, Olivia and The Famous Five. Prior to Chorion, she worked for independent production company Punching Bag Prods. in Toronto as head of development. She has also worked as a casting director for historical documentary series, a producer in the contemporary dance field, and in writing, researching and presenting for radio.
