DreamWorks Animation SKG has elected David Geffen Co. CEO Richard Sherman to its board of directors. The news follows the recent departure of DreamWorks co-founder David Geffen.
Sherman has been CEO of the David Geffen Co. since 1992. Before that, he was a partner with Breslauer, Jacobson, Rutman and Sherman, a leading business management firm serving the entertainment industry. He previously served as a staff accountant with Peat, Marwick and Mitchell. A certified public accountant, Sherman also serves on the boards of Aviva Family and Children’s Services, The Geffen Playhouse and The David Geffen Foundation.
DreamWorks Animation has been busy with the recent theatrical release of Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa and the DVD debut of fellow box-office hit Kung Fu Panda and the ABC holiday special Shrek the Halls. March 27, 2009 will see the release of Monsters Vs. Aliens, the studio’s first film designed for stereoscopic 3-D exhibiton.
