TAITO Corp., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Square Enix Holdings Co. Ltd., today announced that Space Invaders Get Even is now available via WiiWare, Nintendo’s downloadable games service. The title puts a twist on the classic Atari game by allowing players to command a legion of Space Invaders and take over the Earth.
‘In Space Invaders Get Even, we took familiar features that players have come to know and love over the years, and created an entirely new experience out of it,’ says Taito Corp.’s Hiroshi Aoki, producer of the game. ‘We hope that fans enjoy getting to know the Invaders better with this new step in the continuing evolution of Space Invaders.’
The title offers a view of a colorful, 3D world from the Invader ship as gamers battle against earthling technology. There are five types of attacks to choose from, and players can put their skills to the test by comparing scores against fans around the globe via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Three mission packs will be available as add-on content for 500 Wii Points each, offering a total of seven unique missions when added to the main product.
