Spike TV Honors GTA IV

Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto IV was named Best Game of the Year and Sims and Spore creator Will Wright was crowned Gamer God at Spike TV’s 2008 Video Game Awards, held Sunday night at Sony Picture Studios in Culver City, Calif. Hosted by actor Jack Black, the sixth annual event gathered luminaries from the world of entertainment to recognize the outstanding artistic and technical achievements in the gaming industry. Attendees and those watching at home were also treated to exclusive world-premiere looks at ten upcoming games, including EA Sports’ Fight Night Round 4, Mafia II, Terminator Salvation, Watchmen: The End is Nigh, Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned, Dante’s Inferno and God of War III.

GTA IV picked up another Vector Monkey for Best Action-Adventure Game during the ceremony.
