DreamWorks Taps NM Supercomputer Capacity

DreamWorks Animation has linked up with a New Mexico-owned supercomputing initiative to make more efficient CG movies.

In a deal announced by New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, DreamWorks is teaming up with Cerelink Digital Media Group to use the New Mexico Computing Applications Center’s resources for rendering its 3-D movies.

The project works with an ultra high-speed link connecting the studio’s California studios with the New Mexico facility.
