Michel Gondry, best known for the cult hit Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, is set to direct The Green Hornet, Variety reports.
Seth Rogen is set to play the masked crime fighter, and also co-wrote the screenplay with Evan Goldberg. The pair is best known for writing the hit comedies Superbad and Pineapple Express.
The Green Hornet first appeared as a character on radio in the 1930s and rose to fame in serials, comic books and a popular 1960s TV show that starred Van Williams and co-starred Bruce Lee as the hero’s sidekick, Kato.
The film is set to begin production later this year.
