Rodanthe, W. and Soul Top DVD Releases

Romance, comedy and politics dominate the major DVD and Blu-ray releases for Feb. 10. Leading the way for recent studio movies is Nights in Rodanthe (Warner Bros., $28.98 on DVD, $39.98 on Blu-ray), the Oliver Stone-directed biopic W. (Lionsgate, $29.95 for fullscreen or widescreen DVD and $39.99 for Blu-ray), and the comedy Soul Men (Dimension, $28.98 on DVD and $34.99 on Blu-ray) starring Samuel L. Jackson and Bernie Mac.

Also new this week are Blindness (Miramax, $29.99), Frozen River (Sony Pictures Classics, $28.96 on DVD and $39.95 on Blu-ray), Miracle at St. Anna (Buena Vista, $29.99 on DVD, $34.99 Blu-ray) and My Name Is Bruce (Image Entertainment, $27.98 on DVD and $35.98 Blu-ray).

Released individually for the first time in two-disc editions is Robert Zemeckis’ Back the Future trilogy (Universal, $19.98 each). New to Blu-ray are Amadeus (Orion, $35.99), Donnie Darko (Fox, $34.99), Doom (Universal, $29.98), Raging Bull (MGM, $34.99), Pretty Woman (Disney, $34.99), The Pelican Brief ($28.99) and The Boondock Saints (Fox, $34.99)

Animated releases include Backyardigans: Robin Hood the Clean (Paramount, $16.99), Curious George: Monkey Collection Vol. 1 (Universal, $39.98), Curious George: Robot Monkey (Universal, $16,98), Phineas & Ferb: The Daze of Summer (Disney, $19.99) and Thomas & Friends: Railway Friends (HIT, $14.98),

Recently announced animated releases include Watchmen: The Complete Motion Comic (March 6), Watchmen: Tales of the Black Freighter (March 24), The Jetsons Season 2 Vol. 1 (June 6), Saturday Morning Cartoons 1960s Vol. 1 and Saturday Morning Cartoons 1970s Vol. 1 (May 19).
