Salon Focuses on Acting For Animation

ASIFA-Hollywood Animation Archive’s Animation Salon returns Saturday, Feb. 21, with a session titled Acting for Animation.

The session, to be held at 8 p.m. at the Fletcher Jones Foundation Theater on the campus of Woodbury University in Burbank, will explore such questions as the inspirations for golden age animators. It will compare the acting of John Barrymore in 1934’s Twentieth Century with the 1943 Bugs Bunny short Tortoise Wins by a Hare.

Cartoonist Eddie Fitzgerald, creator of animation blog Uncle Eddie’s Theory Corner and a story artist on Ren & Stimpy, will present one of his favorite films and share his theories on acting.

The event is free of charge to the animation community and open on a first-come, first-served basis.

Woodbury University is located at 7500 Glenoaks Blvd. in Burbank.
