Images of the poster art for the upcoming CG-animated feature films Astro Boy and Gatchaman have popped up online.
The Astro Boy teaser poster, first appearing at MTV’s Splash Page Blog, shows the main character in a close-up silhouette, with an opening in his chest revealing his electronic heart.
The film, produced by Imagi and Summit Entertainment and based on the seminal manga and anime by Osamu Tezuka, is due in theaters Oct. 23.
The Gatchaman poster image showed up on a Japanese fan blog and was picked up by the Twitch Film blog. It shows the first look at one of the characters, in this case, second in command Joe Asakura. The series is perhaps better known in the United States under its retooled syndication title, Battle of the Planets.
The film is being produced by Imagi, with an expected release date of 2010.
