Award-winning U.K. indie TV producer, Darrall Macqueen (Bear Behaving Badly, Smile) has been commissioned by CBeebies to produce a live-action/animation mix comedy series titled series, Magic Baby (26×11’). The pre-school show mixes live action and 2D photographic animation to bring to life the magical adventures of a baby called Jake. Darrall Macqueen join forces with Ireland’s JAM Media to produce the show.
Baby Jake, the youngest of 10 children, lives in a windmill where he’s a much-loved, cute, happy gurgling boy. His six-year-old brother Isaac is the series narrator who can understand all Baby Jake’s giggles and gurgles and opens the door to an imaginary world where Baby Jake sings, dances and baby-talks with his animal friends Quin the Penguin, Sydney the Monkey, Nibbles the Rabbit and the Hamsternauts.
“Magic Baby is all about gentle enchanting storytelling with carefully crafted humor that will resonate universally with preschoolers,” says Maddy Darrall, co-managing director of Darrall Macqueen.
Magic Baby is a Darrall Macqueen production in association with JAM Media. The series was commissioned for CBeebies by Kay Benbow.
