Brenda Chapman has reportedly left Pixar Animation Studios and is being replaced by Mark Andrews as director of the forthcoming feature film Brave.
Directing Brave had earned significant attention for Chapman, who would have become the first woman to direct a Pixar movie.
Chapman has previously directed the 1998 DreamWorks Animation feature The Prince of Egypt along with Steve Hickner and Simon Wells.
Andrews co-wrote and co-directed the Pixar short One Man Band, which was nominated for the best animated short film Oscar.
Brave is scheduled for release June 15, 2012.
Wow…after all the hype about the first woman director at Pixar this is insane. :0
