A trio of entertainment industry veterans has formed Wizard Hat Productions, a new family-entertainment production company in Toronto.
The group is comprised of Pam Slavin, Toni Stevens and Bill Fox.
“We formed Wizard Hat because we want to make fresh and engaging children’s shows that we would be proud to share with our families and friends,” said Slavin. “Our team has proudly worked on some of the most beloved children’s shows, and Wizard Hat is looking forward to building on that success by creating new, quality family programming.”
Slavin has been immersed in the creative and business sides of children’s television for more than 20 years. Her producing and writing credits include Little Bear, Johnny Test, Rolie Polie Olie and Berenstain Bears.
Stevens is an award-winning television producer who has worked on hit children’s shows including Caillou, Arthur, Gerald McBoing Boing, Storytime with Thomas the Tank Engine and Will & Dewitt.
Bill Fox, a seasoned media executive, was the executive VP of communications and corporate development at BCE. He also was senior VP of public affairs at Bombardier and CN, and served as the Ottawa and Washington Bureau Chief for the Toronto Star.
