Toy Story 3’s Arndt Gives Nicholl Keynote

Toy Story 3 screenplay writer Michael Arndt will give the keynote address at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ 25th annual Don and Gee Nichol Fellowships in Screenwriting ceremony.

Arndt won an Oscar for the screenplay to the 2006 indie hit Little Miss Sunshine and wrote the screenplay for Disney-Pixar’s Toy Story 3 from a story by John Lasseter, Andrew Stanton and Lee Unkrich.

The Nicholl Fellowships are presented to as many as five entrants, who each will receive $30,000. Ten writers are up for this year’s prizes, each of which comes with the understanding that recipients will complete a feature-length screenplay during their fellowship year.

The presentation dinner will be held Nov. 4 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. The list of finalists can be found at http://www.oscars.org/awards/nicholl/fellows/finalists.html.
