In case there was any doubt, Fox has made it official: The Simpsons will be back for another season, extending the series unprecedented run to 23 seasons and 515 episodes.
“Like many 22-year-olds, The Simpsons is extremely happy remaining at home, on Fox, and hopes it doesn’t have to go out into the real world for many years to come,” said executive producer Al Jean.
The new season will include episodes in which Maggie goes missing, Homer becomes a hair dresser, Moe’s is turned into a trendy bar and the Simpsons debate the best way to spend their holiday season.
Guest stars include Halle Berry, Paul Rudd, Ricky Gervais, Rachel Weisz, Jon Hamm, Kristen Wiig, Alyson Hannigan, Joe Mantegna, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Martha Stewart and singer Katy Perry, who will appear in a live-action sequence alongside Simpsons puppets.
