The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has narrowed to 15 the list of contenders for the Best Visual Effects Oscar.
The qualifying films are:
The visual effects branch of the academy will reduce the list in early January to seven contenders, all of which will be able present their work in the annual bake-off, set for Jan. 20.
The nominees will be announced Jan. 25 and the winner Feb. 27 at the 83rd annual Academy Awards.
