Cookie Jar Streams Shows Through Netflix

Children’s entertainment powerhouse Cookie Jar Entertainment has struck a long-term deal with Netflix to stream selected titles from its libraries to the company’s customers in the United States and Canada.

In the United States, almost 200 half-hours from the series Busytown, Johnny Test, Metajets and Strawberry Shortcake are available for instant viewing. In Canada, the deal includes more than 500 half hours from such series as Bunch of Munsch, Caillou, Country Mouse City Mouse, Heathcliff, Horseland, Inspector Gadget, Paddington, Wimzie’s House and Zoboomafoo.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“Internet streaming offers tremendous opportunities for leveraging our catalog of nearly 6,000 half-hour episodes of television series, the second largest kid’s library in the world,” says Cookie Jar CEO Michael Hirsh. “With these ground-breaking agreements in hand, we are actively pursuing additional digital distribution deals worldwide.”
