Compositing software packages Nuke and NukeX are getting an upgrade, with version 6.2 of each shipping now from The Foundry.
The new version of Nuke includes the timeline feature Dope Sheet, as well as improved rendering, flip book playback and 2D tracker interaction.
The upgrade for NukeX adds image-based modeling tools that make it easier to combine a tracked 3D camera with various 2D image features.
NukeX 6.2 also adds support for Pixar’s RenderMan Pro Server.
“This product release arms artists with an improved experience and expanding toolset as they face new visual effects challenges,” says Richard Shackleton, head of product development for The Foundry. “Core operational improvements complement the growth of the 3D toolset, allowing compositors to work more efficiently and to create and use scene geometry and external rendering, opening up a whole new level of 3D compositing capability.”
