‘Bob’s Burgers’ Debuts Strong With Help from NFL

Fox’s newest animated series, Bob’s Burgers, debuted with solid ratings thanks to a boost from the network’s NFL coverage.

The new series, from creator Loren Bouchard of Home Movies and Dr. Katz fame, drew a 4.5 rating and 11 share with 9.4 million overall viewers — the best premiere ratings with the 18-49 demo for any show this season.

The NFL boost also gave The Simpsons a lift, with a 5.7/14 in 18-49 and 12.7 million viewers overall. For comparison, Family Guy at 9 p.m. posted a 4.7/11 in 18-49 and 9.3 million overall viewers, and The Cleveland Show posted a 3.5/8 and 7.4 million viewers.

The real test for Bob’s Burgers will come next week, when viewers won’t have football as an appetizer.

As for the quality of the show, reviews were mixed — but the real question is whether the viewers liked it, so if you watched, what did you think?
