PBJ Network to Offer Classic Toons

Luken Communications has partnered with Classic Media to launch PBJ, a new TV channel offering favorite shows from the ’50s thru the ‘80s. Luken, which also owns Retro TV and TUFF TV, will premiere the new 24-hour retro channel this summer. Classic Media’s classic portfolio of shows include The Archies, Mr. Magoo, The Lone Ranger, Gumby, Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids, Lassie, Casper the Friendly Ghost and Postman Pan. Luken will make PBJ available to broadcasters, cable and satellite.

“We’re thrilled to work with Classic Media to bring back the very enduring and extremely popular animated and live action shows from the past five decades, just like it was yesterday,” says RTV Network’s Neal Ardman. Doug Schwalbe, exec VP of production and programs sales at Classic Media adds, “We’re all just as excited about watching PBJ today as we were watching these shows growing up. Now, our favorite characters and episodes will be available anytime!”

More than 3,600 hours of Classic Media programming is distributed in more than 170 territories worldwide and showcased in multiple formats, including TV, film, home video, consumer products, publishing, digital, and music.
