U.S. Spanish language broadcaster Telemundo has acquired the rights to air 10 acclaimed animated features from Disney/Pixar, including Up, Ratatouille, WALL.E, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Monsters, Inc. and Toy Story. The broadcast window begins this Osctober.
The new deal brings 10 of the studio’s films to Telemundo beginning in October. This also marks the first time Disney/Pixar films have been made available on a Spanish-language television network in the U.S.
As part of the agreement, The Incredibles will be the first Disney/Pixar film to be broadcast on Sunday, Oct. 2.

“Hispanics make up one-quarter of the audiences that attend animated films,” said Joshua Mintz, senior executive vice president, Telemundo Entertainment. “We are proud to be able to bring the very best in animation to our audience. This new and exciting deal will allow our audiences to watch some of their favorite Disney/Pixar productions in the comfort of their homes, in addition to the high-quality original productions they have come to love and expect from Telemundo.”
Telemundo, is part of NBCUniversal and reaches 94 percent of Hispanic viewers in the U.S.
I’m wondering what the Sam Hill is Telemundo doing to these animated films by butchering the daylights out of them to add more worthless commercials?! Case in point a few weeks ago they broadcasted The Lorax on their network, roughly about nearly 30 minutes of the film was butchered including the Trafella Valley Serenade sequence, the Audrey’s Birthday Party scene and the scene where one of the fishes ate a firefly and spooked the daylights out of his comrades. Today they’re broadcasting for the first time the LATAM Spanish language version of Mr Peabody and Sherman and they butchered that as well in the scene that both Mr Peabody & Sherman were escaping a collapsing Egyptian tomb then suddenly cut away showing both Mr Peabody and Sherman with different outfits! This senseless butchering of these animated features needs to stop! If Telemundo doesn’t show these animated features in its entirety then they should of never show then at all!
Actually the Disney/Pixar films that are translated in LATAM Spanish that are mention here were already broadcasted in the United States on The Disney Channel,Disney Junior, Disney XD,Starz and FreeForm (formally ABC Family) using the SAP mode on the television sets where viewers can switch the audio from English to Spanish and there a little banner in front of the screen that announces that the following program is transmitted in Spanish and can be heard on SAP mode
