USC Curates DreamWorks Animation Exhibit

The USC School of Cinematic Arts will host a curated art exhibit of DreamWorks Animation’s 24 animated features including Shrek, Kung Fu Panda, Madagascar and How To Train Your Dragon, along with the upcoming November release, Rise of the Guardians.

Opening July 31 and running through September 7, “DreamWorlds Behind the Scenes: Production Art From DreamWorks Animation,” will include more than 100 original, digital designs and paintings accompanying character maquettes, miniature sets and stereo footage, as well as other creative elements.

“It is with tremendous pride and gratitude that we bring the DreamWorlds show to the School of Cinematic Arts,” said DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg in a statement. “We are fortunate to have a great number of USC alumni working at DreamWorks Animation, and it is fitting that this art exhibit be displayed where the future stars of animation are being trained today.”

“Our partnership with Marilyn and Jeffrey Katzenberg is critical to the John C. Hench Division of Animation & Digital Arts, and all of the school’s efforts in advancing the field,” noted Dean Elizabeth M. Daley.
