The Hub’s animated series Pound Puppies has received the Humanitas Prize for excellence in writing for children’s television animation.
Writer Joe Ansolabehere was honored in the category of Children’s Animation for the episode “I Never Barked for My Father.”
The Humanitas Prize was created in 1974 to honor film and television writers whose work explores the human condition in a nuanced, meaningful way.
Ansolabehere is among 34 writers nominated in ten categories for the 38th annual awards, and was pre-announced as the winner in the Children’s Animation category.
Pound Puppies is produced for The Hub by Hasbro Studios and follows a rag-tag team of shelter dogs dedicated to finding loving homes for lonely puppies.
