‘Hotel Transylvania’ Opens for DVD/Blu-ray Business

Genndy Tartakovsky’s blockbuster comedy Hotel Transylvania arrives on DVD and Blu-ray today, after making over $324 million worldwide. The Sony Animation feature, which began its theatrical run on Sept. 28 of last year, centers on Dracula, the owner of Hotel T and how he tries to protect his daughter from falling for a regular 21-year-old human traveler. Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez, Kevin James, Fran Drescher, Steve Buscemi, Molly Shannon, David Spade and Cee Lo Green voice the colorful hotel residents and visitors. The film received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Animated Feature as well as seven Annie Award noms.

The special 2-disc Blu-ray/DVD/Ultraviolet Digital copy is priced at $40.99 (22.99 on amazon.com) and includes commentary by director Tartakovsky, producer Michelle Murdocca and vfx supervisor Daniel Kramer, the Annie-nominated short Goodnight Mr. Foot, the “Making of” documentary, progression reels, The Monster Mix music video, and other special features. The title is also available as a 3-D Blu-ray/DVD release ($55.99) and a one-disc DVD version ($30.99  or $17.99 on amazon).
