The organizers of the Course of the Force Star Wars-themed charity run have announced that the event will return to Southern California this summer, once again benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundations of California with 100% of registration proceeds going to the organization.
Conceived by Peter Levin and Team Nerdist with partners Lucasfilm and Octagon, the second annual Course of the Force–an Olympic Torch-style lightsaber relay–will kick off at Skywalker Ranch on July 9, make its way through the San Francisco Bay area, travel from Malibu to Pacific Beach and arrive in San Diego on July 16 in time for Comic-Con International.
Open to Jedis and Padawans of all ages, participants carry the lightsaber for a quarter mile behind CotF’s replica of Jabba’s Sail Barge. Runners are encouraged to dress in their best Star Wars (or other Comic-Con appropriate) regalia, but costumes are not mandatory.
