Warner Bros. Home Entertainment and The Paley Center for Media will be presenting the world premiere of the new DC Universe Animated Original Movie, Justice League: War, in New York on January 21, 2014. Filmmakers and members of the voice cast will attend the event for red carpet interviews and post-screening panel discussion. The new 2D animated film will be available on DVD, Blu-ray and Digital on February 4.
War kicks off when the powerful Darkseid (Steve Blum) and his relentless forces invade Earth and a group of previously unaligned super heroes–misunderstood and, in some cases, hunted by the authorities–must band together to fend off the attack. Batman (Jason O’Mara), Superman (Alan Tudyk), Wonder Woman (Michelle Monaghan), Green Lantern (Justin Kirk), Flash (Christopher Gorham), Shazam (Sean Astin) and Cyborg (Shemar Moore) combine their special abilities in an all-out battle to save Earth. Rocky Carroll (Silas Stone) and Bruce Thomas (Desaad) also star. Based on the 2012 graphic novel Justice League: Origin, by Geoff Johns and Jim Lee, War is directed by Jay Oliva and produced by James Tucker.
Special features on the Blu-ray Combo Pack ($24.98) and DVD ($19.98) includes featurettes Deconstructing Justice League: War featuring Jay Oliva and Jim Lee and Creating Heroes: The Life and Art of Jim Lee; Making-of following from animatic to pencil test; a sneak peek at Son of Batman, the next DCU toon; and four bonus cartoons from the DC/Warner Bros.
