‘Breadwinners’ Graduates to Nick Series Feb. 17

Breadwinners, a new animated series that sprang from Nickelodeon’s 2012 Animated Shorts Program, is set to premiere as a half-hour series Feb. 17 on the network.

The series follows two booty-shaking ducks as they operate a bread delivery service out of their awesome, jet-fueled Rocket Van. Twenty episodes have been produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studios and the series will continue its run with the second all-new episode airing in its regular time slot of Saturdays at 11 a.m. starting Feb. 22.

Breadwinners is created by Steve Borst (Teen Titans Go!, MAD) and Gary “Doodles” Di Raffaele (MAD, Metalocalypse), who was discovered from Nick’s 2012 Animated Shorts Program.

“This is our first series to come out of our animated shorts program and we are very proud and excited to bring it to our audience,” said Russell Hicks, president of content development and production at Nickelodeon. “Steve and Gary have created a fresh, fun cartoon with great characters and an infectious music backdrop that we think will have kids laughing and bouncing with each episode.”

  1. At least in this, they aren’t superheroes. So them never doing anything heroic or exciting isn’t an insult to any original show from back a few years ago. I….wait….rocket fists and a disco ball man? Where did that come from?

  2. Well I for one thinks this show will be THE BOSS YES YEAH WOOH. And I see no similarities at all. It was based off a short in 2012 before tweaking even had that name. I think this show will be good. It needs to be appreciated and not hated on. In fact it’s weird how the show hasn’t come on but it’s already received massive piles of hate and copy. That’s a sad life to live if you hate everything immediately. Example: hey there’s gonna be a new show on! Hater: I don’t like it.” But it doesn’t even have a name yet. Hater: I said I don’t like it. And plus a lot of similarities adventure time came on before regular show and it’s about two bffs who use slang and go on adventures and no one said anything about that. In fact there are a million shows out there who have the same plot but you choose to only pick on one show. And does hair color even matter? It’s pretty sad how you guys pick the smallest things and make big deals out of them.
