The final 13 episodes of the hit CG-animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars will air not on a broadcast or cable outlet, but via streaming video on Netflix starting March 7.
The fan-favorite series seemed to have come to a sudden stop with Lucasfilm announcing last year that the show would be winding down. The 13 episodes of the sixth season — collectively called “The Lost Missions” — had been in production at the time, but went unaired until now.
Netflix also will begin airing the complete series and the premiere feature film, with several episodes getting a director’s cut treatment for the first time.
The content deal is a multiyear agreement that makes Netflix the exclusive subscription service for the entire Star Wars: The Clone Wars series and marks the first time Star Wars content has become available on Netflix.
