VIZ Media is adding intergalactic action-drama anime Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet to its free online streaming platform Neon Alley. Acclaimed studio Production I.G produced the lushly animated 13-part series, which is available in its entirety on NeonAlley.com as of today. U.S. fans can also access Gargantia through Hulu Plus on mobile devices (for $7.99 a month). An English dubbed version of the show is set to arrive later this year.
Set in the distant future, Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet centers on Ledo, a young soldier from space who awakens to find himself marooned on an ocean planet. Having grown up in space and knowing nothing but battle, Ledo is a stranger in a strange land full of odd customs and foreign language. Embarking on a journey on this verdurous planet, Ledo must find a way to survive and reconcile himself to the fact that he may never be able to return home.
