Postman Pat: The Movie has been set for a U.S. theatrical run and will open June 27 in New York and Los Angeles.
Distributed by Shout! Factory, the film opened May 23 in the United Kingdom — where Postman Pat has been an iconic children’s TV show for more than three decades.
Postman Pat: The Movie is directed by Mike Disa (Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil) from a screenplay co-written by the award-winning Kim Fuller (Spice World, High Heels & Low Lifes), Annika Bluhm (head writer and long-time producer of the Postman Pat television series) and Nicole Dubuc (Ben 10, The Spectacular Spider-Man TV Series, Kim Possible).
The film is produced by RGH’s Robert Anich with Rubicon’s Randa Ayoubi and David Corbett with DreamWorks Classics Eric Ellenbogen and Doug Schwalbe serving as executive producers.
The renowned voice cast is led by actor Stephen Mangan (Episodes, Green Wing, Dirk Gently) as Postman Pat; international recording star Ronan Keating, who provides the singing voice for Postman Pat; Jim Broadbent (Iris, Moulin Rouge!); Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter film series); and David Tennant (Doctor Who, Harry Potter).
“We are pleased to be partnering with the talented team at Shout! Factory and anticipate great success for this incredibly popular IP in the U.S.,” said Ayoubi, CEO of Rubicon Group Holding and executive producer for the film.
